Yes

June 24th, 2008

Yes, I am alive and back from Haiti. (It was eye-opening!)

Yes, we’ve bought a house and are packing. (Well, Aurélie is packing.)

Yes, we will post about these things soon. (Soon is relative, probably after July 4th. Ahh, another post!)

Until then enjoy this video.

We Miss You, Daddy!

June 6th, 2008

Scott is in Haiti for 10 days, but we’ll let him tell you about what he’s doing when he gets back. Meanwhile, Natalie is here to keep us company and help me out with the girls. We’re having fun, but we can’t wait for Scott to get home!

In Haiti

June 4th, 2008

I could not get email to work so I’ll have to resort to this.  I’m in Fougasse, Haiti and all is well.  It has been amazing meeting those in the ministry we are serving.  We hiked to the mountaintop site yesterday and will go again in a few minutes.  Please pray for spiritual protection.  Haiti is a very dark place and Fougasse is a stronghold of Voodoo. I miss you girls and love you much.

Discovery Green

May 15th, 2008

This past weekend we went to the new park in downtown Houston called Discovery Green. It is a great project for the City of Houston and very well done. We took advantage of the kiddie-centric areas, but there are plenty of other things to do and events to catch such as the Art Car Day which happened to be going on when we went.

Ready to Go

Taking it all in

An aforementioned “Art Car”

Helene loved the water ring sculpture…

… and ran/danced all around it.

Checking in on Mom and Anna

Long Overdue Post (with lots of pictures to make up for it)

May 10th, 2008

Anna is showing more and more personality, and she has started smiling and cooing. I love the way she smiles when her eyes first connect with mine. She seems to enjoy “babytalk” from me, but not so much from Helene, who tends to get out of control with it. Here is one of Anna’s first sweet smiles.

Helene really enjoyed her new swing at Nanny’s house on our brief trip to Buda. Emily, who lives next door to Nanny & Papa, is always such a sweet friend to come over and play with Ellie.

Beau was very pleased to meet Anna Lacie for the first time.

Here are the cousins playing together at Nonna’s house. They made the most of their brief time together!

Aunt Melanie was also very happy to meet Anna!

Annemarie, Beau, and Ellie working on a coloring project together.

Here they are watering Mia’s plants.

I’ve been trying to get Helene to let me put her hair up in a ponytail more often as it is getting hotter and hotter outside. She is proudly modeling her new style here. I can’t believe how big she looks!

In this picture Helene is reciting “5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed”. When she gets to the part where “the doctor said”, she takes on a very exaggerated deep voice and makes this silly face. It’s quite entertaining for Scott & me, but Anna doesn’t look so sure.

Here we are doing Pilates together.

I finally have a picture of our dear friend, Leigh Ann! We always have a wonderful time at her house. She saves me from the insanity of motherhood once a week, as she graciously puts up with Helene’s antics and gives me some highly valuable adult conversation!

And for those who don’t know, we are in the market to buy a house in Houston! I swore up and down this would never happen, but the Lord apparently has a different plan than me! We are very excited and we really have a lot of peace about this decision. Hopefully we will be homeowners very soon!

Ranch pics from a few weeks ago

 Ellie at the Miller Ranch

Our dear friend and gifted photographer, Jenna Dee, took some fabulous pictures at her family’s ranch a few weeks back. We had a wonderful time there, as always, and we are delighted with how well she captured the day on film! (Well, not really film, since she uses a digital camera, but I didn’t know what else to say.) Anyway, the url below will take you to the gallery. And you can check out her website: www.studiodetro.com
Thank you, Jenna Dee!
